Lake Chelan Watershed Planning Unit meeting
The next meeting of the Lake Chelan Watershed Planning Unit will be May 14, 9:30 a.m., at Campbell's in Chelan. There will be two primary discussion topics: 1. Development of the Detailed Implementation Plan. 2. Update on water rights processing and the coordinated cost reimbursement process. Station 75
open house
Chelan County Fire District #7 will hold an open house for their new South Lakeshore Fire Station #75, on Saturday, May 17, 11 a.m. -3 p.m. The station is located at 12041 South Lakeshore Road, a short distance east of the Lake Chelan Yacht Club on South Lakeshore Drive. Parking will be provided with a shuttle from the parking area to the station on the Chelan Fire and Rescue Parade Truck. Refreshments and food will be served. Bring the whole family and come meet your South Shore Volunteer Firefighters.
Chelan Valley Genealogical Society to meet
The May meeting of C.V.G.S. will be held at Chelan Public Library May 17, at 11 a.m. Guest Speaker, Nancy Culp, will share her expertise on how to write memoirs. If you have started already, please bring what you have written. There will also be a discussion and display of Military Records. Please bring any records, or military memorabilia, you care to share.
Lion's Club golf tournament
Lake Chelan Lion's Club Annual Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, May 17, at Bear Mountain Ranch Golf Course. Individuals or teams of four are welcome. Entry fee is $100 per person and includes 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, lunch and beverages. Golf with former Seahawks. Clothing giveaway
Clothing and accessories will be given away on May 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Riverwalk Closet, located at Chelan Riverwalk Church on the corner of Emerson Street and Okanogan Avenue in Chelan. Clothing etc. is given away the 1st and 3rd Saturdays every month. To donate items call April at 682-3151.

Painting Spring Flowers with an Attitude
Renee Healy will hold a painting workshop, Painting Spring Flowers with an Attitude, on Sunday, May 18, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Chelan Fire Station. Cost is $25. Bring snacks, watercolor paper, paintbrushes, flowers, leaves, spray bottles, paper towels and watercolor paint and white masking fluid. Bach Fest Fundraiser
Lake Chelan Bach Fest will be having a Fundraiser concert on Sunday, May 18, 2 p.m., at the home of Dr. and Kerry Travers, 130 Henderson Terrace, Chelan. The concert will feature Mary Jensen, flute, accompanied by Beth Jensen, piano. Tickets are $40 and includes refreshments and a wonderful afternoon of live music. Art exhibit
A watercolor exhibit by Suze Woolf, opens at the Golden West Gallery in Stehekin, on May 23, with a reception, at 7:30- 9 p.m. The exhibit is on display until June 17. The gallery is located in the Golden West Visitor Center in Stehekin and is open daily. Arts and Humanities of Stehekin operates the gallery in conjunction with the House That Jack Built (community craft shop) providing exhibits and programs that promote understanding and appreciation of the North Cascades, through the arts.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Chelan Douglas gives everyone in the community a chance to help the organization save lives and create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Relay For Life takes place from 6 p.m. on May 30 until 10 a.m. on May 31 at the new location at Eastmont High School Track.
