Looking for handmade items for Manger Mall
Do you a knit, crochet or make blankets? Have you made numerous hats, gloves, scarves and blankets over the years for your kids, grandkids, kids of friends, grandkids of friends? Chelan Valley Hope's Manger Mall is looking for folks, who would be interested in making handmade items for their 7th season of Manger Mall. Baseball, softball, tee-ball registration
The city of Chelan is holding baseball, softball, and Tee-ball registrations for those in grades Kindergarten through 6th. The cost is $25 for grades K-2 and $35 for grades 3-6th. There is an additional cost of $17 for those that don't have an AAU card. Sign ups will be held until March 17. There will be a coaches meeting on March 18, at MOE 7 p.m., room 201. Fire district to meet, volunteers wanted
CHELAN - Chelan County Fire District #7 will hold its regular board meeting Wed., March 11, at the fire station, located at the corner of Wapato and Sanders in Chelan. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. www.chelan7.com They are also looks for volunteers, if you are interested stop by the station.

Wayne Kelly Memorial Top Dog Parade
Calling all dogs, every pooch and hound. The Wayne Kelly Memorial Top Dog Parade is a great chance for you, your dog and your kids to be in a parade. Wear green, dress up your dog and try your hand at bringing home the "top dog" award! This event is a community run parade. The parade starts at noon, on Saturday, March 14. To participate, line up in the parking lot behind Wells Fargo Bank at 11:30 a.m. Judging will be done before the parade begins.

Men's group
CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Men's group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, at Latte Da Coffee Stop Cafe, at 8 a.m. They will meet in March on the 12th and 26th. All men who have a belief in Jesus Christ are welcome to attend.

Choir rehearsals for Good Friday Service
Lake Chelan Community Choir is looking for those who enjoy singing to come to the first of five rehearsals for the choirs part in Good Friday Services at North Shore Bible Church. Rehearsals will be held 1-3 p.m., on Sundays, March 15, 22 and 29, at North Shore Bible Church. No audition required. The choir will be singing 5 well known loved hymns. Good Friday Service will be at 7 p.m., on April 3. For information call Marci Hale at 687-3791.

Soup kitchen
CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church soup kitchen is open the first and third Thursdays of the month. They will be open Thursday, March 19, Noon to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson in Chelan, and is on a bus route.

Fire education workshops
CHELAN - Cascadia Conservation District and South Douglas Conservation District are hosting a series of fire education workshops in March. The Chelan workshop is scheduled for Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the main CCFD#7 firehouse, 232 East Wapato Avenue in Chelan. Topics will include fire education, fire history, forest health issues, creating defensable space, firewise landscaping and construction, technical and finacial assistance, fire adapted communities and more. Scholarship
The National Association of Professional Mortgage Women-Wenatchee Valley is accepting applications for the 2015 Daniel Albrecht Memorial Scholarship. This $2,000 scholarship is open to men and women who will be attending Wenatchee Valley College or Central Washington University in the Fall of 2015. Students must be U.S. citizens and have resided in Chelan, Douglas, Grant, or Okanogan Counties for the past three years. Preference will be given to applicants with a focus in lending/banking/real estate, but all business students are welcome to apply.
