Manson's Farmers' Market Saturdays and Wednesdays at the Manson Grange, 157 E. Wapato Way. Selling starts at 8:30 a.m., when the gong sounds and goes until sell out or noon at the latest.

Lake Chelan Eagles ladies auxiliary will host a holiday bazaar and bake sale on Saturday, Dec. 6, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. It is open to handmade crafts and commercial items. Applications are available at the Eagles Lodge on Woodin Avenue or call Pat, 509-682-0268 for more information.

Traveling exhibit at
Lake Chelan Museum
The Lake Chelan Museum, 204 E. Woodin Avenue, has a unique display combining the art work of Ray Troll with the science of paleontologist, Kirk Johnson, about the science of fossils. This traveling exhibit is on loan from the Burke Museum in Seattle. From now through September 28, come learn more about prehistoric life and death in our own state. Open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-4 a.m..; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 a.m.

Art Show in Stehekin
'Second Nature', art from the Stehekin Community, opens at the Golden West Gallery in Stehekin, on August 15, with a reception, at 7:30- 9 p.m. The exhibit is on display until September 17. The gallery is located in the Golden West Visitor Center in Stehekin and is open daily. Arts and Humanities of Stehekin operates the gallery in conjunction with the House That Jack Built (community craft shop) providing exhibits and programs that promote understanding and appreciation of the North Cascades, through the arts.

Bass tourney
The Ray Stanley Memorial Bass Tournament has been moved to Saturday, August 23, along with the Pateros Hydro Classic. Sign up will be at the Methow boat launch at 3:30 a.m., drivers meeting at 4:30 a.m., blast off at 5:30 a.m. Weigh in will take place in the Memorial Park at 2 p.m. For more info call Shannon at 509-679-6406.

Open Auditions for Holiday Spice 2014
Open auditions for Holiday Spice will be Thursday, August 28, 7- 8 p.m., at the Numerica Performing Arts Center in Wenatchee. Performers must prepare a number, it may be singing, dancing, or other performance art in capella or with sheet music or a track. Audition pieces are not required to be a holiday number. Performers must be available for rehearsals November 17 through November 19. Additional rehearsals will be scheduled at mutually convenient times. Holiday Spice is a community based holiday variety show benefitting the Numerica Performing Arts Center. The show is Thursday, November 20, 7 p.m. For information, Nancy Zahn, nancyzahn@hotmail.com
Wenatchee Learns Connect grand opening
On August 28, 2-5 p.m., the Wenatchee School District will host a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for their new partnership center Wenatchee Learns Connect, 2 South Mission Street in Wenatchee. Ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 2 p.m., and the event is open to the public. Wenatchee Learns Connect, the Wenatchee School District's new partnership center is a resource center for cultivating partnerships between the community and the Wenatchee School District. NAMI Family-to-Family class
For anyone in the NCW area, the Family-to-Family class offered by NAMI is the only resource for family memers of persons with mental illness. A local class will begin on Sept. 10 and run for 11-12 weeks, finishing before Thanksgiving. It is free but does require pre-registration by way of a phone call/interview to either, Caleb at 509-881-1562 or Marie at 509-630-3400. Class facilitators are trained in NAMI's national curriculum; the material is current, practical and (according to past attendees) life-changing. Sept. 12-13
Quilt show
North Central Washington Quilt Guild's annual Harvest of Quilts show will be held September 12-13 at the Town Toyota Center in Wenatchee. This is the 30th anniversary for the quilt guild. Show hours are 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Friday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5. The show will feature a Merchants Mall, boutique, live and silent demonstrations and a silent auction.
