The Mansfield Booster Club will sponsor the second annual "Back to School" barbecue next Monday, Aug. 25 (the first day of school), beginning at 6 p.m. right outside the school's front door.
District patrons will have a chance to meet teachers and staff, talk to new superintendent Gene Nelson and generally visit with neighbors and friends; the booster club will serve hot dogs and hamburgers. All interested district patrons are invited.
PATEROS
New student registration begins Monday
Junior high and high school students (grades 7-12) enrolling at Pateros can register for classes next Monday, Aug. 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the counselor's office. Students will be required to submit a birth certificate, Social Security card and immunization records.
Elementary school students, kindergarten through sixth grade, may register at the school office, across from the gym, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. next week, Monday through Friday, Aug. 25 through 29. Parents must supply immunization records, a Social Security card and birth certificate.
School starts Tuesday, Sept. 2. Fall sports practice begins next week; junior high and high school students who want to participate in sports are reminded they must have a physical dated after August 2007 on file at school before they can turn out for practice.
Saturday night movie in Pateros park Aug. 30
All Pateros-area residents are being invited to an outdoor presentation of the animated film Cars Saturday, Aug. 3 at 8 p.m. in Pateros Memorial Park. Residents are invited to "bring lawn chairs or come sit in the bleachers and enjoy an evening (in the) park," said
