Seeking alumni

Brewster High School's graduating class of 1973 is requesting contact information for fellow classmates Mark Carlson, Kevin Franke, Bruce Peterson, Bob Salazar and Frank Webster. Hospital garage sale

Three Rivers Hospital is holding a garage sale this Friday, March 22 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., upstairs in the former billing office. Up for grabs are microwaves, refrigerators, tables, chairs, air conditioners, computer supplies, wardrobe closets and more. Blood drive

The next American Red Cross blood drive will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 18 at the Columbia Cove Community Center, 601 W. Cliff Ave. The blood drive is sponsored by Three Rivers Community Alliance. For more information, contact Janet Hanke at 689-3749.

Legion pool tourney

American Legion Post 97 hosts its weekly pool tournament each Sunday at 2 p.m. Entry fee is $5. At the March 17 tournament, Larry Boyd won first place, Bill Scofield took second place and Zearl Wilson won third.

HOSTS

The Brewster Elementary School HOSTS program is looking for mentors to work with students in reading. HOSTS is an acronym for "Help One Student To Succeed." Kids work one-on-one with a mentor for 45 minutes from Tuesday through Friday. BRIDGEPORT

Irrigation District meeting

The Bridgeport Irrigation District will hold its spring meeting at 3:30 p.m. this Thursday, March 21. The meeting will be held at Bridgeport City Hall, 1206 Columbia Ave.

Singing Inspiration

Singing Inspiration will be held at 6 p.m. this Sunday, March 24 at the New Life Fellowship Church, 1025 Douglas Ave. Refreshments will be served.

Help a local cancer patient

The family of Brittan Schmidt, who has a rare form of brain cancer, has established a fund to help pay for medical expenses as he undergoes treatment. Donations can be dropped off at Sterling Bank and Wells Fargo Bank in Brewster.

PATEROS

Spring luncheon

Pateros School is having a spring luncheon that the community is invited to on Thursday, March 28. Elementary lunch starts at 11 a.m., and secondary lunch starts at 11:50 a.m. The kitchen staff is preparing a special treat, and this is a fun opportunity to spend time with our students.

Kindergarten registration

Kindergarten registration and screening for the 2013-2014 school year will be held from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 11 in the Pateros school library. If you are planning to enroll your child in kindergarten for the upcoming school year, please call the school at 923-2343 ext. 2 to schedule an appointment.

Child Find

The Pateros School District is seeking people from birth to age 21 who are enrolled in school and who may need special education services. The North Central Education District defines special needs as having concerns with hearing, vision, speech, health, learning development delay, transportation, behavior, autism or other disabilities. Contact the school to schedule a screening, 923-2343. Screening day will be April 11 at the school, 344 W. Beach St.

APJ meeting

The next Apple Pie Jamboree committee meeting will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 5 at Sweet River Bakery.

REGIONAL

Transit board meeting

The next regular Okanogan County Transit Authority board meeting will be from 6 to 6:30 p.m. March 25 at Rockwall Cellars, 110 Nichols Rd. in Omak. A stakeholders "meet and greet" will follow until 8 p.m. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jeff Wilkens at jeff@wvtc.org or 509-663-9059.

School retirees meeting

The Okanogan County School Retirees' Association meets at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Koala Street Grill, 914 Koala Ave. in Omak. Julia O'Connor, director of the Family Empowerment Project, will discuss efforts to help homeless and disadvantaged students in Okanogan County. For more information, call 509-422-3393.

OCSRA scholarship

Okanogan County residents who are at least a college junior and are working toward an initial certificate in an educational field may apply now for a scholarship offered by the Okanogan County School Retirees Association. The scholarship amount will be no less than $600. Deadline for completed application form is May 1. Renaissance Faire

Wenatchee Valley College will host the sixth annual Wenatchee Valley Renaissance Faire on April 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and April 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the soccer fields on the Wenatchee campus. For more information, please visit www.wenrenfaire.com.

Earn diploma or GED
