Senior meals served Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday at Senior Center and home delivery

BREWSTER – The Senior Center is now serving meals at Noon, at the center on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Home delivered meals are delivered those same days. Please call 509-689-2815 to reserve meals. Suggested donation for those over age 60 is $4. For those 60 and under the cost is $10. September 27: French Dip Sandwich, Potato Salad, Green Salad, Peaches, Desser; September 29: Hamburger Steak with Grilled Onions, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy

Buttered Corn, Cuke/Tomato Salad, Mandarin Oranges, Dessert.

Senior Center Thrift Store

BREWSTER – The Brewster- Pateros-Bridgeport Senior Center Thrift Store is open Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Check out their great kids section. Donations accepted when they are open. They are also the Brewster Visitor Information Center and the Brewster Chamber of Commerce meeting room.

CHELAN - Chelan Valley Hope's Hope Hoedown was a great success thanks to our fantastic community. Thank you to everyone who attended the event on Saturday, September 16. Thank you to Chelan Valley Farms for the most beautiful space. Thank you, Dooley Dogs and Taqueria Mazatlan, for providing amazing food. Thank you to those who donated, and thank you, volunteers, for all of your time and hard work. Together, we achieved our fundraising goal and created a memorable experience for everyone involved. Vitalant Blood Drive

PATEROS - There will be a blood drive on Friday, September 29 from 2-6 p.m. Donations will be done outside the Pateros School, 344 W Beach St., on Vitalant’s Mobile Blood Donation Bus. Appointments can be made at donors.vitalant.org or by calling 877-25-VITAL (4825).

OMAK -  County School Retirees' Association will hold a $5 Soup and Sandwich lunch and general meeting on Friday, September 29, 11 a.m., at Community Presbyterian Church of Omak, 9 Birch St. S., Omak. Carol Payne, Omak, will demonstrate an Art Docent lesson. Information: Carol: 509-322-5788.

OKANOGAN – The Okanogan County Fair Advisory Committee meets the second Monday of the month and is always looking for volunteers. The meetings are open to the public and begin at 6 p.m. in the Okanogan County Commissioners’ hearing room, 123 N. Fifth Ave., Okanogan.

Brewster bus trips

BREWSTER – OCTN takes Brewster area resident to Wenatchee, second Thursday of the month. That next trip is October 12. The bus starts picking folks up at their homes at 7:30 a.m. Riders may request  destination(s); medical appointments etc. On the third Thursday of each month, October 19 riders will be taken to Omak for the day. Riders request their destination(s). Wenatchee: $12/boarding for General Public, $6 suggested donation/day for Seniors (60 plus). Omak: $5.50/General Public, $2.75 suggested donation Seniors (60 plus). (509) 826-4391 to reserve your seat.

2024 Methow Valley Rodeo Queen Tryouts

WINTHROP - Methow Valley Horsemen will conduct tryouts for 2024 rodeo queen on Saturday, October 14, at noon, at the Winthrop Rodeo Grounds. Potential queen must be able to transport her own horse and represent the Methow Valley for one year starting in May 2024, traveling to multiple rodeo, parades and luncheons.
