Homebuyer’s Education Seminar scheduled for Brewster Senior Center

BREWSTER – The second Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC) Homebuyer Education Seminar to be held in Brewster is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, August 18, at the Brewster Senior Center at 109 S. Bridge Street in Brewster.

The workshop is designed to help prospective homebuyers qualify for financial help to purchase a home. Those who successfully complete the upcoming seminar will receive a Certificate of Achievement, good for two years, to help buyers qualify for a variety of affordable housing programs available under WSHFC.

Doug Morger, an Eagle Home Mortgage loan officer from Wenatchee will teach the lender portion of the program.

Anna Marie Dalbey, managing broker of the Coldwell Banker/Lake Chelan Properties office in Brewster, will be the instructor for the realtor side of the workshop.

A key advantage of the WSHFC is the Downpayment Assistance Program (DPA) that offers buyers who qualify a low-interest option to help acquire a home.

The first WSHFC seminar in Brewster was held last June and attracted about a dozen prospective home buyers.

Morger teaches a WSHFC class every two months in Wenatchee and has been involved with the program since it came into being five years ago. Those interested in registering for the free seminar can contact Morger at dougmorger@eaglehm.com or call 509-888-4001.
