NW Jet Sports Association draws nearly 50 racers to APJ

PATEROS – The Northwest Jet Sports Association (NJSA) held the largest race on its annual circuit during the 71st Pateros Apple Pie Jamboree, July 20-22. NJSA spokesman Roger Harnack said the APJ Watercross Race drew 48 competitors, the largest field of the season.

“Everyone likes to come to the Pateros,” said Harnack, “and they really like the water conditions here.”

The jet ski racers have actually held nine events on the Pateros course, the past eight in conjunction with the Jamboree.
Harnack was one of the original five founders that started the NJSA in August 2010 in Kennewick to promote personal water craft sport competition in watercross, freestyle and other categories.  Just two years later the group had attracted more than 100 members.

The NJSA 2018 competition schedule began with the Devils Lake Dash in Lincoln City, Oregon, on May 17. The next stop was the Lake Osoyoos Cup in Oroville, June 10, followed by the Lava Lamp Regatta in Soap Lake, June 20-22. The racers are headed back to Oroville for the Lake Osoyoos Cup Watersport Festival on August 5-6.
