Tour Methow Valley custom homes August 8

This Mazama cabin is one of nine homes featured on the 17th annual Methow Valley Home Tour.

WINTHROP – Tickets for the Confluence Gallery’s 17th annual Methow Valley Home Tour on Saturday, August 8,  are on sale through August 4 at locations in the Methow Valley, by phone, and online.

“Building in the Land of Sun and Snow” will feature residences from artisan-crafted cabins to postmodern retreats that balance practical and environmental demands with designs that reflect the unique beauty of the Methow.

The Methow Valley experiences weather extremes with temperature high’s above 100 degrees and below zero low’s. Designing and building homes that combine beauty with function to match the seasonal weather variables poses a challenge to architects, designers and builders.

“Reflecting the beauty of the Methow Valley, these nine homes have a sense of place and offer a diverse selection of unique designs,” said Confluence board member Loy Young in a media release. “From the cabin in the woods to the ultra-modern house, this year’s Home Tour is extraordinary.”

Tickets, along with a tour map, can be purchased at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp through August 4, at the Mazama Country Store in Mazama from 9 a.m.-noon, August 4, online at Brown Paper Tickets, or by phone at 509-997-ARTS (2787). Tickets are $25 per person or $20 per person for car pools of four.
