Entries solicited for annual Apple Pie Jamboree quilt show

Posted
Columbia River Quilt Guild participants are soliciting quilts, quilted wall hangings, antique quilts, quilted clothing or just about anything quilted for the annual Apple Pie Jamboree quilt show, scheduled for Saturday, July 19 at the Pateros Methodist Church. In addition, tickets are on sale for the guild's annual benefit quilt raffle.

Each year guild members get together and make a quilt for the raffle prize; the winner is selected during the quilt show. This year the proceeds will go to benefit the St. James Episcopal Church food bank; each year the quilt raffle benefits a project either in Brewster, Bridgeport or Pateros. Tickets are $1 each and are available from any quilt guild participant.

Quilters who want to display their handiwork in the show can contact Leslie Robb or Cheryl Parsons in Bridgeport or Joan Symonds or Debbie O'Connell in Brewster for an entry form. Quilt guild participants will be setting up the show on Friday, July 18 beginning at 10 a.m. and are soliciting help with that, or with taking the quilts down on Saturday afternoon after the show closes at 4 p.m.

Quilt guild meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at the Bridgeport Elementary School library; any interested quilters are invited.
