Bears, Bridgeport compete in Brewster Co-ed relays

BRIDGEPORT – The Brewster and Bridgeport high school varsity track and field teams were among 10 schools that completed in the Brewster Co-ed relays held at the Bridgeport track complex on Tuesday, April 11.
Since the meet did not meet the requirements as a traditional event, the only posted results were those submitted at the option of team coaches.
Meet results were posted on Athletic.net for Brewster, Bridgeport, Okanogan and Cashmere only. Based on those limited figures, placement results are as follows:
Bridgeport senior David Ochoa placed third in shot put with a throw of 37 feet, 6 inches. Brewster sophomore Alfredo Nila was fifth at 35’1”.
Bears senior Freddy Bastidas threw the discus to a second-place 122 feet. Ochoa was fourth in that event at 103’1.5”.
Brewster’s Brandon Bach and Ernie Nanamkin were one-two in the javelin with respective throws of 155’9” and 141’. Nanamkin also won the long jump with a leap of 17’10”
Bridgeport sophomore Ivette Orozco was fourth in shot put with 29’7”, followed by Brewster’s Marta Martinez, fifth at 29’ and Emily Saucedo of Bridgeport, sixth at 28’1”.
Saucedo was first in discus at 92’8” with Bridgeport’s Itzel Muniz close behind in second at 89’11”.
Brewster’s Kim Nila was third in javelin with a throw of 87’1” and Samantha Martinez of Bridgeport fourth at 84’7”.
