Bears named WIAA February 2B Team of the Month

BREWSTER – The Brewster Bears varsity basketball team that battled through two heart-stopping, come-from-behind 2B playoff games to finish second at state this year was recognized by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) as the Team of the Month for February.
The Bears entered state play as the fourth-seeded team after winning 13 of 14 regular season games including a key win over Central Washington B leader Okanogan in district competition. Along the way the Bears maintained a high academic standard with a 3.61 grade point average.
All but two of the varsity players – seniors Adaih Najera and Zane Madden – could return to the lineup next season. Michael Taylor guided the Bears to their ninth state championship in 2020 during his first year as head coach.
