Billygoats gore Cougars for first league victory
PATEROS – The Billygoats varsity boys basketball team turned a close first quarter lead into a 30-point win over visiting Cascade Christian Academy last Thursday, Jan. 5.
“We did a good job in our press forcing turnovers and transitioning for easy baskets,” said head coach Marcus Stennes. “We did not shoot well from three going 7-34.”
While the Pateros boys work on improving their outside scoring percentage their defense seems to be holding the line.
“We limited the Cougars to seven points in the second half which was what helped us secure a lead and ultimately the win,” Stennes said.
Pateros was scheduled to meet the Shockers at Waterville on Tuesday, Jan. 10, and then to Soap Lake on Thursday, Jan. 12.
