BREWSTER – A District 5/6 basketball playoff game between the Lady Bears and Mabton, postponed twice because of hazardous weather, will be played at 4 p.m. today (Feb. 13) in Brewster’s Champions Gym.

The Central Washington 2B League champion Lady Bears were originally scheduled to play Mabton at Hanford High School in Richland last Saturday, but the Lady Vikings were unable to make the 15-mile trip due to dangerous driving conditions from a winter storm blowing through the area. The game was rescheduled at Brewster yesterday, Tuesday, Feb. 12, but once again Mabton had to cancel owing to the weather.

Fourth-seeded Mabton faced forfeiture if it could not schedule a meeting before this Friday’s District semifinal rounds begin at Chelan.

Admission to the 4 p.m. game in Brewster this afternoon is free to encourage supporters to pack the gym for the home town Lady Bears.

Caribou Trail League (CTL) district playoff games involving teams from 1A Okanogan and Omak will also play at Brewster at 5 p.m. immediately following the Lady Bears-Mabton game.
