Brewster varsity basketball continues undefeated season

Posted

BREWSTER – Both the Brewster boys’ and girls’ varsity basketball teams remain undefeated at 6-0 in Central Washington 2B League play following wins over the Trojans at Manson on Wednesday, Dec. 15.
Coach Tim Taylors’ Bears outdistanced Manson by nearly 30 points with a convincing 62-37 road win.
Brewster will put its undefeated streak to the test at the SunDome in Yakima on Thursday, Dec. 28, when the Bears face Toutle Lake followed by Hoquiam on Friday, Dec. 29.
The Toutle Lake Ducks of the 2B Central League are ranked second in the 2B Central with a 4-1 league record.
The Hoquiam Grizzlies of the 1A Evergreen League stand in third place in their league with a 2-6 record.
The Bears will host second-place Tonasket at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2.
Lady Bears win
The Lady Bears did reach the 30-point win margin when they outdistanced the Lady Trojans 60-28 at Manson. The point gap was typical of the margins by which Brewster has been defeating league opponents in their first six games of the season.
Lake Roosevelt has been the only team to come within 20 points of the Lady Bears as Brewster marches through league opponents again this season.
The Lady Bears will be off until Tuesday, Jan 2, when Brewster hosts Tonasket. Girls’ game starts at 6 p.m. and boys at 7:30 p.m.
