Bridgeport boys drop three after opening season league win

Posted

BRIDGEPORT – The Mustangs varsity boys basketball team is trying to get back on the winning track after league losses to Manson, 58-47, Tonasket, 68-55, and Oroville, 76-54, following a season opening win over Soap Lake.
Despite 17 points by Mustangs junior guard Ronaldo Ubaldo, Bridgeport could not catch the undefeated Tonasket Tigers who, along with Brewster, remain the only unbeaten teams in Central Washington 2B League play so far this season.
Tonasket junior Ryker Ayers scored 10 points alone in the first quarter, two more than the entire Mustangs team, to give the Tigers a 15-point advantage that Tonasket never relinquished on its way to a 43-19 halftime lead.
Bridgeport will host Waterville-Mansfield at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in hopes of improving their 1-3 league record against the 2-2 Shockers.
