Fillies end softball season with 19-1 loss to Oroville

Posted

BRIDGEPORT – An occasion for celebration was no help for the Fillies last Tuesday, May 2, as the visiting Oroville Hornets stung Senior Night festivities with a 19-1 win over Bridgeport in its final game of the season.
The sixth-place Hornets, with an 8-10 record in the North Central Washington 2B League, staged a performance similar to their earlier 16-1 win over the Fillies on April 25.
Bridgeport closed its season with a 3-15 league and overall record, just a notch above last-place and winless Manson in the NCW2B. The Fillies’ only wins this season were against Soap Lake and a doubleheader over the Lady Trojans.
It was the final game in a Fillies’ uniform for pitcher, Shaylee Polvos and second baseman, Annabella Valdovinos who were honored in Senior Night ceremonies before the game.
