Mustangs drop one on the road to Manson

BRIDGEPORT – The Mustangs varsity soccer opened their season with a strong home start with non-league wins over Omak, 3-1, on March 13, and Ephrata, 2-1, on March 15.
Bridgeport shut out Liberty Bell, 4-0, on its home pitch Thursday, March 22, to kick off the Central Washington 2B league competition
“Keven Cervantes scored in the 19th minute, Ozzy Orozco scored in the 22nd minute, Leonardo Sanchez scored in the 24th minute, and Ozzy Orozco scored again in the 34th minute,” said head coach Gabe Gonzalez.
Edgar Meza was Bridgeport’s goalkeeper for the first half before Carlos Ruiz took over in the second half. Ruiz had eight saves, Gonzalez said.
Bridgeport was scheduled to host Tonasket on Tuesday, March 27, and play Manson on the road Thursday, March 29. The Mustangs will host Okanogan in non-league play at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31.
