Nannies open basketball season with Soap Lake win

PATEROS – The Nannies varsity basketball team opened its 2021-22 season on Nov. 30, with a decisive 44-12 home win over Central Washington B-1B district rival Soap Lake.
“Good start to season with a good win,” said head coach Jared Henton. “Everyone played a fair amount of time with Tea Asmussen leading us with 14 points and six steals followed by a double-double by Laini Gallegos with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Giselle Ceniceros and Kassidy Wilfong both chipped in with six points each.”
The Nannies varsity roster includes four seniors, Naili Hernandez, Vanessa Ceniceros, Alley Piechalski, and Angie Gonzalez; four juniors, Tea Asmussen, Karina Mota, Cheyenne Hanson, and Laini Gallegos; two sophomores, Janet Hernandez and Kassidy Wilfong; and freshman Giselle Hernandez.
The Pateros girls were scheduled to play Wilson Creek on the road last Monday, Dec. 6, and host Bridgeport on Tuesday, Dec. 7. The game schedule through Dec. 29, includes:
Monday, Dec. 13, at Moses Lake Christian Academy.
Tuesday, Dec. 14, at Wilber/Creston.
Friday, Dec. 17 Waterville/Mansfield (6 p.m.).
Saturday, Dec. 18, at Cle Elum/Roslyn.
Tuesday, Dec. 21, Cascade Christian Academy (6 p.m.)
Tuesday, Dec. 28, Republic (6 p.m.).
Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Bridgeport (6 p.m.).
