Nannies varsity volleyball faces Neah Bay at State

YAKIMA – The Pateros varsity volleyball team will face the Red Devils of Neah Bay in the first round of the 2018 Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 1B State Championships in the Yakima SunDome at 11.45 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8.

The Nannies took their 11-1 Central Washington 1B League record into the post season and polished off their two closest CW1B rivals, Entiat and Wilson Creek, to win the District 1B title. The Nannies had beaten Entiat in their two regular season meetings and split 1-1 against Wilson Creek. At Districts Nov. 1, Pateros defeated the Tigers, 3-1, and squeezed by the Devils, 3-2.

Neah Bay finished first in the North Olympic 1B with a 5-1 record to advance to the first round of state.

The heavy hitter in the 1B championships this season is Almira-Coulee-Hartline that defeated both Pateros and 2B Brewster during the regular season. ACH is undefeated at 13-0 and ranked first in the 1B. Pateros comes in at 17, and Neah Bay 22nd
