BREWSTER – The Pateros varsity baseball team ran into some stiff resistance last Thursday, April 18, when it met the Bears’ junior varsity team in a non-league doubleheader. It took the Billygoats a 13-0 loss in the first game to get zeroed in for some hits and runs in the second game that ended Brewster’s way, 16-6.
The Billygoats have some solid wins under their belts against Central Washington 2B league teams this season. After losing the first game of a doubleheader to Manson in their season opener, March 23, the Pateros men surprised the Trojans with a 12-5 win in the second game.
Pateros won both ends of a doubleheader at Oroville, 21-11, and 13-12, on March 30.
The Billygoats were scheduled to host Riverside Christian for a doubleheader on Tuesday, April 23. In an earlier meeting on the road at Riverside Christian, April 12, Pateros managed a single run as the Crusaders swept the first game, 19-0, and won the second, 14-1.
Pateros will be at Waterville-Mansfield for a doubleheader on Saturday, April 27.
