Poole chosen for 2018 All-State Volleyball Tournament

PATEROS – Senior varsity volleyball player Sarah Poole has been chosen to participate in the 2018 All-State Volleyball Tournament. The All-State Tournament will be held March 10 at Auburn Riverside High School and will showcase the state’s best senior players.
Poole’s selection to the Central Washington 1B All-League First Team made her eligible for consideration for the All-State team. The Washington State Volleyball Coaches Association selection committee made the announcement of Poole’s nomination last month.
“Sarah’s selection is very well-deserved,” said her coach, Gene Dowers. “She completed the 2017 season as the State’s best server and, in addition to being elected to the All-League Team by the league’s coaches, she was voted by her teammates as Pateros' 2017 Most Valuable Teammate and Most Inspirational Player.”
Pool’s season point production also made her the team’s Most Valuable Player.
“For a kid that’s got to put her volleyball shoes on to stand five feet, five inches, she’s got a pretty big game,” said Dowers. “Lots of that comes from having a big heart for volleyball and her team.”
Dowers said that it has been fun to follow Poole’s growth in the game and in the community, “particularly as she followed her father and older brother into the Volunteer Fire Department.”  It’s good to see her get some recognition for what she’s made of herself.”
