Regional basketball playoff brackets determined

EAST WENATCHEE/TACOMA – Regional basketball playoff brackets for 1B and 2B teams for the coming weekend have been assigned by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association.

The Brewster Bears boys will meet Toutle Lake at the Eastmont High School main gym at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. Brewster played the Ducks during the regular season at the SunDome Tournament in Yakima last Dec. 27 and beat them 66-44. Win or lose, Brewster will advance to the State playoffs in Spokane.

The Lady Bears will also play at Eastmont and face Mabton in a loser-out game at 8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 23. Brewster hosted Mabton in the District 5/6 quarterfinals on Feb. 13 and defeated the Lady Vikings, 64-37.

The Pateros Billygoats who finished second in the Central Washington 1B District tournament will play Neah Bay in a loser-out game at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 23, at Mt. Tahoma High School.
