Senior strong Mustangs grab early league wins

BRIDGEPORT – A varsity roster comprised of nearly a dozen seniors appears to be paying early dividends for the Mustangs varsity basketball team has won three of four Central Washington 2B league games in the early season.

Bridgeport dispatched Soap Lake, 72-24 on Dec. 5, toppled Tonasket 70.42 on Dec. 18, followed by Oroville, 63-55, on Dec. 20. Its only league loss has been to Manson, 60-53.

The Mustangs currently trail undefeated Lake Roosevelt and Brewster in the CW2B and are at least two games ahead of their remaining league rivals as the teams head into holiday break. Bridgeport will play in the Holiday Tournament hosted by Liberty Bell this Friday and Saturday. Starting on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020, the Mustangs host five consecutive home games through mid-month.
