On Friday, May 28, the Legion Auxiliary will be selling poppies from 1-4 p.m. and need a couple Auxiliary members or guests to help take donations.

On Saturday, May 29, Legion members will be doing yard cleanup and beautification starting at about 9:30 a.m. and would welcome help with those chores.

Legion members will begin putting the large flags in place at 6 a.m. Memorial Day, May 31, at Brewster’s Locust Grove Cemetery.

“We begin putting flags up at the local cemeteries at 6 a.m. and take them down at around 6 p.m.,” a Columbia Post 97 Facebook post says. “We are in dire need of volunteers willing to help with both or one of the other.
