BREWSTER – The Brewster Boys and Girls Club (BBGC) held back-to-back fund raisers at venues in Chelan and Brewster last Sunday and Monday, May 21-22.
“Beautiful weather, amazing new friends and winery event at Siren Song in Chelan, incredible golf resort and staff at Gamble Sands, and a packed roster of generous golfers were a perfect recipe for raising resources for both our regional kids and the Boys & Girls Club movement in North Central Washington,” BBGFC Director Brian Paine said.
The Evening on the Veranda “started Sunday evening with Kevin and Holly Brown of Siren Song Winery in Chelan,” said Paine. “The event was orchestrated by the Browns and Larry Garcia of Pacific Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley in Bellevue, Wash.”
Garcia also sits on the Boys and Girls Club board of Kirkland.
“Mack & Zoe Strong (Pullman, Wash.) attended our winery event as well as our golf event and have shown a wonderful commitment to our region, Paine said.
Monday’s golf tournament, BBGC’s biggest money-raiser of the year attracted “112 golfers from all over the state, which is 32 more than we had attend last year,” said Paine. “The tournament boasted four Hole-in-One opportunities thanks to MGH Equipment of Okanogan and Jess Ford/Dodge and Sunrise Chevrolet of Omak and included a number of contests and games.”
Gebbers Farms sponsored the tournament title and the event concluded with BBQ and raffle. Sponsors included Gebbers Cattle, Food Services of America, USI Kibble & Prentice, siren song Winery and Morgan Stanley.
The raffle drawing included a rustic wine barrel Adirondack-style chair, Pacific Northwest duck hunts, Applets & Cotlets, wine packages and other prizes.
“We were blessed to be supported by businesses from all over our region,” said Paine, “and people who believe we need to create outstanding environments for kids in NCW surrounded by caring, nurturing mentors to help bridge the gaps kids face in today’s world.”
