BREWSTER – While many agencies and businesses around the Quad City area are either closed, on reduced hours or have limited access, the Brewster Boys and Girls Club (BBGC) remains open while taking measures to conform with new COVID-19 mandates to maintain the health and safety of both youngsters and volunteers at the facility at 601 W. Cliff Avenue.
BBGC Director Jamie Sluys said Friday, March 20, that the club is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. through 6 p.m. under new social distancing and capacity guidelines outlined by state mandate. No more than 10 children are allowed in any one room.
“One day we had 14 kids show up, so we just moved outside because the weather has been so nice,” Sluys said.
Food service hours run from 9:30-11 a.m. daily.
The annual BBGC Gold Tournament, the club’s principal fundraising event, remains on schedule for May 18.
The BBGC can be reached by phone at 509-689-1192.
