Ruiz hired Aguilar in November 2020 and purchased Taz from the Colville agency.
Taz will serve the Brewster community in his specialty, detecting narcotics.
“The officers are excited to have a K-9,” said Ruiz. “It broadens the services we are able to deliver to our community.”
The ballistic and stab resistant vest that Taz is seen wearing in his photo was made possible thanks to a generous donation from the Ostrem family.
Ruiz announced the hiring of Officer Aguilar and acquisition of Taz at the January meeting of the Brewster City Council.
