Bridgeport approves 2023 planning commission docket

BRIDGEPORT – Contract city planner Kurt Danison of Highland Associates addressed the Bridgeport City Council at its regular monthly meeting last Wednesday, Jan. 18, to review 2023 docket items selected earlier by the city planning commission as required by the city’s comprehensive plan.

The planning commission discussed the docket items at its November and December 2022 meetings then put notices in local media asking interested citizens to submit any requests for changes to land use regulations and plans. The commission then held a Jan. 5 public meeting to hear any public input. Absent any requested changes from the public the commission discussed the following potential projects:

1. Review of economic development element of the comp plan for consistency with the community revitalization plan for the SR-173 corridor.

2. Review of commercial agriculture in the land use element of the comp plan.

3. Preparation of a non-motorized transportation plan.

4. Updating administrative procedures.

Danison addressed the council requesting direction from the council as to what items the commission should focus on in 2023. Council approved the docket as presented.

Council also approved the Berryman Park planning supplement for Gray and Osborne.
