Capacity limits on Link Transit are lifted, remain free to ride

Posted

With the state returning to a full opening, Link Transit is removing all capacity limitations from their vehicles. These have been in place since the early spring of 2020, under the orders of the State of Washington. Capacity has been limited to as low as 25% of the stated vehicle capacity, and more recently it was adjusted to about 50%.
While these capacity limits are no longer in effect, Link Transit must still comply with federal mask regulations. This requires all passengers on public transit to wear a face covering. This is under the order of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

This order is in effect until September 13.
There continues to be no charge to ride the buses.
