Challengers lead races for Pateros mayor, council positions

PATEROS – With few votes left to count from the Nov. 2 General Election, results from the Okanogan County Auditor’s Nov. 19 count show a slight gain from the previous results of Nov. 10 for both challengers for Pateros mayor and city council position 1.
Kelly Hook, the challenger for the Pateros mayor’s office currently held by Carlene Anders increased his lead from 58.42 percent of the vote to 58.46 according to the latest figures. Hook leads Anders by 34 votes, 114-80. Hook gained three votes from the Nov. 10 count of 111, while Anders gained one from 79 to 80.
In the race for city council position 1, Frank Herbert who was appointed to fill the vacancy left by Christine Perry last spring, is trailing challenger Chantel Poole by 11 votes, 100-89. Poole also gained slightly since The Quad reported results from the Nov. 10 auditor’s count. Poole gained an additional five votes to increase her lead from 51.63 percent to 52.63 percent while Herbert’s vote total remained unchanged.
The auditor’s results were scheduled to be certified on Nov. 23
