Chelan Earth Day 2021 - a virtual event on Apri 17

Posted
CHELAN - Beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 17,  the Chelan Earth Day Fair is coordinating with Sustainable Wenatchee and the Leavenworth fair organizers to offer the opportunity to chat with and learn from the Eco-experts, in a Virtual Collaborative and Information Sharing Fair. As part of Chelan’s traditional Earth Day Fair gone-virtual this year, website visitors will have access to four planned live Zoom breakout sessions the afternoon of Saturday, April 17 on their webpage chelanearthdayfair.org
Topics will include: County wide environmental issues; electric vehicles; Chelan Rotary’s project to repurpose glass in the Chelan valley; and the pleasures and perils of raising backyard chickens.
Links will be available county-wide on each of the fairs’ websites the day of the sessions, and active participation is encouraged.
The Chelan fair organizers are also producing a feature length video highlighting the various aspect of the fair, including timely tips, funny snippets and musical performances by six different artists such as Kevin Jones and Savanna Woods. The video will be released at 10 a.m., April 17 and available, along with the live sessions links, by going to the website.
Virtual Vendor’s Row
The vendor’s row is live on the website the whole month of April. Connect with your favorite vendors in the virtual world since we can’t yet connect in person. Find plant starts, handcrafted local items and organizations and businesses helping to make a difference.
Musical Performances
You may not be able to come out to listen and dance in person to live music, but some of your favorite musicians have pre-recorded live sessions that will be shared on their video program. They think a little “Dancing like no one is watching” might be pretty healthy for folks right now.
Who’s playing: Kevin Jones, Doyle Wood and Cam Nichols, Older and Wiser, Savanna Woods, Loni Rose, Space For Rent and Mark Tesch.
Chelan Rotary Glass
Recycling Plant
We’ll be introducing the Chelan Rotary Glass Recycling Plant operation, an industrial-capacity system coming soon to a permanent home in Chelan. This year, a portion of the donations will help Chelan Rotary and the City of Chelan bring this important environmental benefit to our Valley. In fact, all donations to the non-profit Chelan Earth Day Fair are recycled into local environmental projects and educational outreach.
