COVID-19 transmission Increases in youth, young adults

EAST WENTCHEE – Chelan-Douglas Health District (CDHD) is reporting an increase in COVID-
19 transmission in youth and young adults. CDHD is reaching out to work closely with
organizations that support youth and to businesses. With a little over 30% of our community
vaccinated, we are at a vulnerable point and we are asking businesses and youth organizations
to maintain mitigation efforts. And we are requesting that anyone participating in youth events
please wear their masks and practice social distancing. CDHD will continue to work with the local
community to provide updated COVID-19 guidance.

We entered Phase 3 of the Reopening Plan on Monday March 22, and to stay in phase 3,
we need to keep the case count low. As the weather gets nicer, we urge our community to
maintain vigilance, meet outside, and wear masks to combat potential variants. If eligible, get
vaccinated!

If you or someone you know has participated in youth events where there may have been an
exposure within the last two weeks, please get tested. Free COVID-19 testing is offered through
Lifeline Ambulance.
