Douglas County Commissioners gift computers to Bridgeport school

Posted

BRIDGEPORT – The school district was on the receiving end of an unexpected but welcome gift from the Douglas County Commissioners earlier this month.
The commissioners presented the Bridgeport School District with 35 Dell computers as part of a dispersal of surplus inventory.
Commissioners Steve Jenkins (District Three), Dan Sutton (District One), and Kyle Steinburg (District Two) delivered the computers on March 14.
“When Douglas County Commissioner Steve Jenkins contacted us, yes, it was a welcome surprise,” said BHS superintendent, Scott Sattler. “We are very thankful for the donation and the computers will be put good use.”
The commissioners elected to donate the computers to schools where they can be put to good use, Sattler said. The school plans to program the donated units and integrate them into classes this fall.
“Bridgeport School District will utilize the computers in a high school classroom that focuses on foreign language learning.
