Douglas County Primary results garner candidate comments

Posted

It has been over a week since the August 7 primaries and some of the candidates have given comments about their performance and their outlooks for the future.
To be fair, not all candidates were asked for a comment, nor did all the candidates who were asked for a comment choose to give one. If more candidates come forward in the future, their comments will also be published.
The candidate's name and office they are seeking appear in bold before their comment:
Michael Steele (12th District State Representative)
I am honored that the people of the 12th Legislative District have given me the opportunity to advance to the General Election and ultimately send me back to Olympia to continue working on their behalf. I am excited to continue my policy work around Work Force Housing needs, Career Connected Learning opportunities and Career and Technical Educations. I want to continue to focus on Job growth, economic prosperity and development here in Central Washington.
I look forward to continue to meet with people around the district throughout the remainder of the campaign to listen and help me build my next set of legislative priorities for the next session in Olympia.
Marc Straub - (Douglas County Commissioner District 3)
"I "'m deeply humbled and grateful for the trust and support that my fellow citizens in Douglas County's 3rd District placed in me. I look forward to continuing earning the trust and support required of the privilege of serving as one of their Douglas County Commissioners. There's much work to be done between now and the General election in November and I look forward to it. Thank you, very much!"
Keith Goehner (12th District State Representative)
I am grateful for the support in the primary.  I am looking forward to the opportunity of clarifying the issues and their impacts on the District.  There is still a lot of work to be done before the general so I will be doing my best to complete the obligations I have to the County and continuing the campaign.
Editor's Note: For complete primary results consult the Secretary of State website at SOS.wa.gov or the Chelan County Assessor's Office at Chelancounty.wa.gov.
As a reminder, the final and official certified results will not be announced until Tuesday, August 21.
