Team roping was just one of many activities that filled the July 4 holiday weekend. Malott resident, Mike Jones, right, catches or “heads” a Corriente steer in his home arena as heeler, Ron Stevens, from Omak, closes in to try and catch both hind feet to complete the round and qualify for a score. The steer is wearing a padded head harness to prevent injury and rope burns.
