Housing needs survey underway in Okanogan County

Posted

OKANOGAN - Okanogan County is working with Points Consulting (PC) to conduct a Housing Needs Study. This study will help regional leaders better understand the current and future housing needs of our communities. The project is funded through a Washington Commerce grant and being conducted under the supervision of a five person Steering Committee.

Okanogan County offers a unique and attractive quality of life that has both sustained its existing population and attracted new-comers from across the Pacific Northwest. These factors have helped contribute to housing cost and availability challenges for businesses and households across the region. Roughly one in four households in Okanogan County are cost-burdened according to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, meaning that they pay 30%+ of household income toward housing.

Community members who wish to provide their perspectives and input are welcome to complete this web-based survey, which will only take 5-10 minutes: https://cutt.ly/OkanoganCountyHousingNeedsSurvey
