Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine resumes

Posted
EAST WENATCEE – On Friday, April 23, the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) resumed the use of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine. After a thorough safety review, the FDA and CDC made the decision to lift the pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. Read the FDA and CDC’s full statement here: cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/fda-cdc-lift-vaccine-use.html. The pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was placed on April 13 in an abundance of caution after reports of six cases of rare blood clots were associated with the one-dose vaccine. Chelan-Douglas Health District will continue to work closely with local providers on vaccine efforts. Please stay tuned for future Johnson & Johnson vaccine clinics throughout Douglas and Chelan counties. Now more than ever, please wear a mask, wash your hands and watch your distance.
