Monse resident perishes when vehicle enters river

MONSE – Local resident, Nancy Taylor died when the car she was driving left the Monse River Road on the evening of Dec. 12 and plunged into the Okanogan River.

The partially submerged vehicle was spotted in the water the next morning and a diver with the Okanogan County sheriff’s office discovered the body of the 76-year-old driver when he investigated the scene.

Taylor was apparently returning home after visiting a friend in Brewster when her vehicle left the roadway.

A subsequent investigation by the Sheriff’s office found neither mechanical nor medical issues that contributed to the single vehicle, single occupant accident.
