Posted

PATEROS – At their regular meeting on Feb. 24, Pateros School District board members learned that the Okanogan-Douglas Fire District 15 declined the school district’s proposal regarding the sale of Methow School District property a portion of which the fire district expressed an earlier interest in purchasing. Pateros Superintendent Greg Goodnight had proposed to keep the property whole as opposed to dividing it.
While the fire district is still interested in purchasing a portion of the Methow parcel, school board member Parker Barth, seconded by Marc Armstrong, moved to keep the Methow property intact and wait until the best use of the property is found as one that meets the needs of the Methow community, the fire district and the school district. The motion was carried unanimously.
In other business the board, approved this year’s sixth grade Outdoor Education Field Trip planned for April 27-May 1 in Alta Lake State Park.
The board also approved the school’s spring coaching staff as follows:

Junior high track: Marcus Stennes.

Baseball: Head coach Shane Kelly, Assistant Matt Coffman.

Boys/Girls tennis: Sean Hiltz.
Junior High girls volleyball: Head coach Teagan Straub, Assistant Erika Varrelman.
