Pateros Chamber meet and greet April 19

PATEROS – More than a dozen participants turned out for the regular monthly meeting of the Pateros Chamber at the Pateros Fire Hall last Thursday, April 5, and as the warmer weather nears, events increase apace.
Guest speakers included Karen Wagner of Dwell NCW and Alta Cellars and Leigh Anne Barth, also of Dwell NCW and Alta Lake Golf Resort. Wagner reported 10 active real estate listing, most of them land, in the Quad coverage area. The county counts 62 listings with an average price of just over $350,000. Wagner said there is an urgent need for more listings and rentals as interest in this area from the west side of the state increases.
Alta Cellars will introduce new wines in the fourth week of April and Alta Lake Golf is now open for golfers, but the restaurant remains closed awaiting manager Shane Kelly who is still employed at the Pateros School District. Barth said the resort will try to have the restaurant available for special group events.
Registration is now open for youngsters up to 13 years of age who want to participate in PGA Junior League golf. Coach Parker Barth is teaching twice weekly lessons at Bear Mountain Golf. The cost if $275 which includes extras and six tournaments. Interest parties can call (509) 923-2359 for more details.
Amy Brotherton, office assistant at Alta Lake State Park advised that Alta Lake is open for the year and park aides are needed. There are three, six, and nine-month opening available with a starting wage of $12.24 per hour. The Pateros Chamber Meet and Greet will be held at the Central Building at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 19. Also, on that date, RealLife Brewster will launch a team meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Brewster EMS Station at 412 West Indian Avenue in Brewster.
Arbor Day will be observed at Pateros Memorial Park from 3:30-5 p.m. Friday, April 27.
Brewster Boys and Girls Club Director Brian Paine said the club is gearing up for its biggest annual fundraiser, the Gamble Sands golf tournament on May 21. Leading up to the event is the Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival sponsored by Siren Song on May 18-20, benefitting BBGC. Paine said volunteers are needed at the club for after school activities and at the golf tournament. Paine can be reached at 509-689-1192.
On Memorial Day, May 28, SweetRiver Bakery will begin its summer concert series with live music every Friday and Saturday night, and on Sundays with a three-day weekend is involved.
Also firing up on Memorial Day is the Smokehouse BBQ at the Central Building.
The Pateros Library is now open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
