Pateros Community Market season finale is Sept. 10-11

PATEROS – The last of three Pateros Community Market & Movie events will pop up this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10-11 at Lakeshore Park, culminating the city’s trial of a family-oriented weekend shopping and entertainment experiment. A special feature of the final Saturday will be a Kids Market for ages below 18 to sell products of their own making.
The Friday market will run from 5-8 p.m. and feature an Arbor Day celebration from 7-8 p.m. There will also be a special Story Time prior to the 8:30 p.m. movie. Families begin arriving early for good seats for the wildly popular movie shown on the giant inflatable big screen erected in front of the multi-purpose building.
Both the kids’ and adult farmers’ market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, with a moment of silence at 9:11 a.m. in observance of the 20-year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, World Trade Center attacks.
Coffee and pastries will be sold to raise funds for the farmers’ market. Plans are under discussion for a weekly market for the 2022 season.
