Pateros council swears in re-elected incumbents

Fire Dept. selects new officers

PATEROS – Incumbent city council members George Brady, Megan Sherrard, and Mike Harding took their oaths of office at the council’s regular monthly meeting on Dec. 16. All three ran unopposed in the November general election.

The Pateros Fire Department also announced its officers for the new year. They include Chief Keith Zweigle, Assistant Chief Kerry Hean, Captain Matt Coffman, Lieutenant One Jacob Carpenter and Lieutenant Two Thomas Stegall.

In other business members approved two ordinances and six Resolutions dealing with city business, including:

• A Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant for the sidewalk project along Warren Avenue from Chris Street to Riverside Drive:

• A budget amendment for the general, water, sewer and equipment fund for 2019;

• Updating compensation for public works employees for various licenses and certifications;

• A resolution relating to street vacation procedures;

• An automatic aid agreement with Chelan fire Protection District 7;

• An updated dispatch service agreement between Okanogan County and the city;

• An interloan transfer from the general fund to the water capital fund;

• An amendment to the professional service contract with Varela & Associates for the water system improvements project.

The January 2020 regular monthly council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21.
