PTEEO will launch classes June 1

PATEROS – The Pateros Treehouse Early Education Organization (PTEEO) will launch summer preschool classes on June 1 in the former Church of Christ building at 128 N. Independence St. Classes will be held from Monday through Friday in two daily sessions, 8 a.m.-12 p.m. and 12:30-4:30 p.m. The program is for children ages 2-1/2 through 6 years with an emphasis on social emotional development and school readiness, said lead teacher Tracy Miller of Apple Blossom Preschool.

Miller, a Pateros resident and president of the Apple Pie Jamboree, earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Washington. She has more than 20 years of experience in education including four years as a preschool teacher for the Lake Chelan School District. PTEEO, a 501(c)3 nonprofit was incorporated in October 2019 with a nine-member board of directors comprised of:
Kailee Tanneberg, President: financial accountant at Gebbers Farms.
Gene Dowers, Vice President, Executive Director of the Pateros-Brewster Resource Center.
Lindsay Vallance, Treasurer, office manager and legal assistant for Valor Law.
Kayla Johanson, Secretary, school psychologist at Brewster School District.
Betty Hagenbuch, retired teacher and 50-year Pateros resident.
Michael Harding, Pateros City Council member.
Grace Larsen ARNP, family nurse practitioner with Confluence Health.
Clara Oborne, third grade teacher at Pateros School District.
Courtney Reynolds, K-5 special education teacher for Brewster Elementary School.
 
PTEEO hopes to renovate the Church of Christ building with grant funds and donations to accommodate 52 children as a licensed daycare for youngsters up to 12 years of age.
