Red Cross launches VTEP for evacuees in response to Cold Springs Road Fire

OKANOGAN COUNTY – The American Red Cross has launched a Virtual Temporary Evacuation Point in response to a fast-moving wildfire in Okanogan and Douglas Counties. The Cold Springs Road Fire triggered level 3 evacuations of approximately 60 homes around 2:00 a.m., Monday, Sept. 7, and that number is growing. All impacted individuals and households are asked to get to safety immediately.

  • Virtual Temporary Evacuation Point (VTEP)  
  • Evacuees should call 509-670-5331 for assistance 

 If you have time: evacuating residents are encouraged to bring the following for each member of their family: prescription and emergency medication, extra clothing, pillows, blankets, hygiene supplies, important documents and other comfort items. Additionally, special items for children and infants, such as diapers, formulas and toys, should be brought, along with other items for family members who may have other needs.
