Rescue dogs find new homes at Pateros adoption event

PATEROS – The first-ever dog adoption event hosted on March 18 by the Pateros-Brewster Community Resource Center for the non-profit Okanogan Angels dog rescue and low income spay/neuter organization resulted in homes for five happy canines.

“It went very well,” said founder and President Jennifer Harrison. “We ended up with one adoption at the actual event and four overall for the weekend.”

Harrison said that Okanogan Angels is just getting started and only had 12 available dogs for the weekend adoption event.

“We will be back in Pateros on May 20,” said Harrison. “We are doing in adoption event at Paws and Petals in Omak in April and June.”

Okanogan Angels will be at the North Cascades Athletic Club for a silent auction on April 22 when the Omak Police Department and Okanogan County Community Coalition.

Harrison said Okanogan Angels will also be at both the Pateros Apple Pie Jamboree in July and the hydroplane races in August.
