Small business grants available through August 28

OMAK – Okanogan County small businesses that meet the application requirements have until August 28 to file for funding relief administered through the Economic Alliance in partnership with the county. Small Business Stabilization Grants for up to $10,000 each and made possible through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act are available on a first-come, first-served basis for small businesses that meet the program qualifications.

The county has committed $250,000 with the intent to help businesses that incurred expenses from the coronavirus pandemic beginning March 1 through the date of application. The funds must be applied to expenses such as rent or mortgage, utilities and related costs incurred due to the pandemic.

Applicant eligibility is based on the following criteria:

Business must be located in Okanogan County.

Owned by U.S. resident or permanent resident alien.

Business must have 20 or fewer full-time employees (FTE).

Business must have been in operation at least six months.

Business must have a valid UBI number.

Business must have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
