Well known local charity partners with Community Center at Lake Chelan

Thrive Chelan Valley teams up with the CCLC

Posted
CHELAN -The Seven Acres Foundation, developers of the forthcoming Community Center at Lake Chelan (CCLC), has welcomed a popular area non-profit organization to its growing family of partners.  Thrive Chelan Valley, which has served, empowered and advocated for area youth over the last 21 years, intends to utilize the CCLC in a variety of ways to expand its services to an even broader scope.
In announcing the new partnership, Seven Acres Board member, Brian Hendricks, said “we feel honored to partner with such a great organization.  Thrive Chelan Valley has done such a great job of supporting our communities with their mentorship programs, the Food2Schools program and the teen center. I feel the relationship with Thrive is in strong alignment with both their mission and ours.”
Kayla Helleson, Executive Director of Thrive Chelan Valley, is also very enthused about forming this new relationship.  “We are thrilled to partner with the Community Center at Lake Chelan as we align with the project’s core values of connection, relationships, compassion, service and wellness.  Partnering with the Community Center helps ensure that our valley’s youth and their families will soon have broader access to a hub of resources that will enhance their lives and the lives of generations to come.”  Ms. Helleson also noted she’s extremely grateful for the community partnerships that have supported Thrive over the past two decades, especially the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church, where the Teen Center has operated for twenty years, and the City of Chelan, which has provided significant annual funding to ensure the Teen Center continues to serve valley teens.
Thrive currently offers three dynamic programs designed to serve Lake Chelan Valley youth: (1) Thrive Cares, a wraparound service model that provides for tangible items such as clothing, food, and other basic needs, (2) Thrive Mentoring, a program that connects local youth to safe and caring adult mentors, inspiring personal growth and empowering youth to reach their full potential, and (3) Thrive Teen Center, their flagship program providing a safe space on Friday and Saturday evenings for teens to enjoy a warm meal, fun activities and connections with others.  Currently, operations at the Teen Center are temporarily suspended due to COVID-19 restrictions, but Thrive intends to resume that program and possibly add other offerings in the same location once restrictions are eased.
