WorkSource offers Great Careers in Okanogan County workshop

OMAK – WorkSource Okanogan, a job-search, employment training agency that works to match employers with job seekers with employers, will hold the second of two workshops titled Great Careers in Okanogan County from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, July 25, at the Omak WorkSource office at 126 S. Main Street in Omak.

The workshop will explain WorkSource services and address the many great careers and training opportunities that Okanogan County has to offer.

Kristi O’Neill, Career Connection Specialist at WorkSource said in a media release that the workshop will highlight:

• The Okanogan County hidden job market including jobs you never knew about and how to find them.
• Networking, mentorship and job shadow opportunities for job seekers.

WorkSource Okanogan is part of WorkSource WA, a statewide partnership of state, local and nonprofit agencies in more than 60 centers and affiliates that provides employment and training services to job seekers and employers in the state.

In 2017, WorkSource specialists helped an estimated 170,000 workers and nearly 5,600 employers

Last February, WorkSource teamed up with the Okanogan County Economic Alliance and Washington State Department of Labor and Industries to host a Registered Apprentice Program that explained how employers how to develop certified apprenticeships in qualified occupations that number more than a thousand varieties.
