Cecil Cavazos Sr.

Posted

On Wednesday September 16, 2020. Cecil Cavazos Sr. loving husband and father passed away at Central Washington Hospital. He was 66.

Cecil was born December 22, 1953 in Dallas Texas, to Jessie Cavazos and Marcella Gonzales. He is preceded by his wife Grace Cavazos, both his parents, two sisters, and three brothers.

Cecil worked for Apple House from 1977 to 1986 as a truck driver, forklift operator and in shipping & receiving. In 1987 Cecil worked for Brewster Heights Packing for 19 years as a truck driver and continued working another 16 years under the new name Gebbers Farms. Cecil Sr. has driven truck and operated forklifts for the better part of 48 years of his life.

Cecil was an avid fisherman and sports enthusiast. He was a very active parent attending as many sports events as possible to support his children. He loved to go fishing, Cecil especially loved to go fishing with his wife Grace Cavazos on their boat together. They were a very unique couple, which showed in the last few years as his wife became sick, Cecil took the time off necessary from work to care for his beloved wife, with no regard for himself. He was liked by so many in his community, he made friends every where he went and was always willing to help others.

February 5, 1975 Cecil married the love of his life Grace Cavazos, in a small ceremony in Brewster, Washington. They raised two daughters Cindy Cavazos and Maryann Shiflett, and a son Cecil Cavazos Jr. Cecil is survived his two daughters, his son and ten grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.

The Cavazos family would like to extend a warm thank you to Sonya Taylor and her family and Gebbers farm for the support they have shown towards our family in theses difficult times.

A memorial will be held for both Cecil and Grace Cavazos at a later date and time to be decided, due to Covid restrictions. The pride in our hearts, the hero in our souls, forever by our side, Cecil Cavazos Sr., forever loved and missed.
